Recognized at an annual installation and awards dinner hosted by the Subcontractor Association this summer, Knorr met the following criteria: shows superior communication and administration skills, runs a safe operation, exhibits integrity and performance and understands and protects the interest of the employer, the owner and the subcontractor in a balanced manner.

Knorr received the professional honor while overseeing construction of the firm's Morena Vista project, a mixed-use residential community with 163 apartments, 22 loft apartments and retail space located in Linda Vista. However, Remensperger pointed out that the award is not for a single project, but rather for consistency of performance over an entire career.

"It's exciting to be a part of a growing company like Legacy Building Services and work on the innovative mixed-use Morena Vista project that offers everything imaginable to those living here," said Knorr. "It's been very gratifying to see the project come together while also establishing a professional partnership with other subcontractors based on trust, respect and honesty. That's what our company is all about and it has been rewarding to see the relationships develop along with the property."

Located at the corner of Napa Street and Linda Vista Road near the University of San Diego, Morena Vista is a transit-oriented redevelopment project of the Metropolitan Transit District Board and the city of San Diego's Redevelopment Agency and CityLink Investment Corp. Resting on the former site of a dilapidated commercial center, the new multi-use project designed by Martinez & Cutri, brings together the best of urban living and smart growth principles and boasts the added benefit of an on-site trolley platform for easy work and play commutes.

A native of San Diego County, Knorr has worked his way up through the construction industry since he began as an apprentice in 1974. He has worked in all phases of commercial and residential construction. He is a licensed general contractor and roofer and currently resides in Lakeside where he has lived for more than 17 years with his wife Martha and their two grown children.
